Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee Summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council is establishing a new Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee.

At the April 2024 Council Meeting, Council made the decision to amalgamate the Arts & Culture Committee (A&C committee) and the Heritage Advisory Committee (HAC). With advice from Governance, we have drafted the proposed ‘Terms of Reference’ for the new Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee, and as suggested by Council, we are seeking stakeholder feedback on this document.

This change requires reappointment of members to the Committee. In combining the Committees, there will be an overall reduction of membership. (HAC formerly had eight members and A&C had six members). The attached survey will also ask you to express interest in whether you would like to be a member of the new Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee. Please note, all committee members are expected to attend four (quarterly) meetings a year.

Feedback will be open for a two-week period. Following that, a report will go to Council with recommendations based on stakeholder feedback. It is anticipated that it will be included in the agenda for the December 2024 Council Meeting.
