Open Space Strategy

Project Overview

Council is inviting the community to have their say on the development of the Fraser Coast Open Space Strategy.

The Open Space Strategy will be a key strategic document that aims to translate the community’s value and vision for open space (parks, recreation and sporting facilities, linear corridors) into a guiding document that will lead Council’s planning, management, future works program, and resourcing for open space to meet growth expectations.

Once the draft strategy has been prepared further community engagement will be undertaken with the community in the coming months.

Phase 1

The consultation in phase 1 included engagement with the wider Fraser Coast community, as well as community clubs and organisations who utilise open spaces.

Further targeted engagement will occur with identified stakeholders and user groups throughout the project.

If you would like further information on the project or how to be involved, please phone Council’s project manager Mr Paul Rice who can be contacted on (07) 4197 4633.
