The Fraser Coast Regional Council, in partnership with the Australian Government, is building a better lifestyle for Hervey Bay, turning Pialba, Hervey Bay and its surrounds into a revitalised world-class town centre and civic hub.
Re-shaping Hervey Bay’s community and significantly enhancing the heart of town, the Pialba Town Centre Revitalisation will transform the region into a primary and popular destination, and cultural and creative precinct, with diverse food, dining, social and shopping experiences on offer.
The Pialba Town Centre Revitalisation will preserve and enhance connections between key local destinations, including the Pialba Town Centre and cultural precinct, the facilities and services of Hervey Bay, Wetside, foreshore and natural surrounds.
The master planning process for a re-imagined town centre is officially underway, with the launch of the Pialba Town Centre Master Plan project’s engagement process.
The first of a range of revitalisation projects made possible by the Federal Government’s Hinkler Deal funding, the engagement program will be the start of an ongoing conversation involving a range of projects. Starting with the Town Centre Master Plan, council will look to the community to share their vision and ideas for what a future city heart might look like.
To ensure much of the region has the opportunity to have their say, Council and the project team are conducting extensive community consultation during March 2021.
