Welcome Local Suppliers

The Fraser Coast Regional Council, in partnership with the Australian Government, is building a better lifestyle for Hervey Bay, turning Pialba, Hervey Bay and its surrounds into a revitalised world-class town centre and civic hub.

Council is now seeking interest from local suppliers to help us deliver the new Library and Administration Building (incl Disaster Resilience Centre).

Council gives no representation or undertaking that, any business will be contacted by a potential selective tenderer/s or successful head contractor. Furthermore, the successful Head Contractor not Council will be responsible for selecting subcontractors and suppliers for the New Library and Administration Centre (including Disaster Resilience Centre).

The Hervey Bay Library & Administration Centre (incorporating a Disaster Resilience Centre) project includes the following general scope of works:

  • Earthworks, including site remediation and general cut to fill level creation.
  • The construction and fit-out of the building (accommodate approximately 9,000sqm of total functional building area and car parking spaces). The key functional building elements including:
    • Basement parking
    • Regional Library
    • Customer service centre
    • Disaster resilience centre
    • Council chambers
    • Administration offices.
  • Associated and supporting building engineering services infrastructure.
  • A landscaping and public realm scheme for the site including soft and hard landscaping, external lighting, external features, and wayfinding signage.
  • Art and public internal wayfinding and signage inclusive of Indigenous components.
  • External activation of the street scape areas and entrances into the facility; and
  • Integration of the building/site with the Master Plan concepts and scenarios.

Eight local companies secure work on new community hub

Eight local companies have secured sub-contracts valued at about $12.2 million for goods and services needed during the construction of a new Hervey Bay City Centre community hub.
