Fraser Coast Regional Council's 2023-2028 Corporate Plan identified the goals of Council as a result of consultation with our community and staff and represents the overarching vision that is shared for the entire region.

Focus Area 1 of the plan identifies Connected, Inclusive Communities and Spaces– one of five Focus Areas to help Council prioritise service delivery, programs and projects over the next five years. Community Planning is an important mechanism for identifying and understanding community aspirations and priorities; and is a process that can enact and empower a community to carry ownership for the development and improvement of their lifestyle.

The development of a Toogoom Community Plan will seek a whole-of-community approach into the foundation of the plans and in identification and prioritisation of specific key projects.

To ensure a cross representation of community input, we will connect with key demographics and groups within the Toogoom community trhough:

  • A community survey
  • A community forum
  • Face-to-face meetings with community groups
  • Invitations to submit ideas and suggestions
