Project Overview

Council currently honours residents of the Fraser Coast Regional Council area who celebrate their 100th birthday by planting a Centenary Tree to recognise this significant achievement.

The recognition practice was initiated by the former Maryborough City Council who introduced the planting of a tree in a public park to celebrate the milestone.

After Councils were amalgamated in 2007, the practices were expanded into all areas of the Fraser Coast Regional Council area.

However, Council does not have a formal policy to govern this process.

Protocols have been proposed on how this policy can be implemented in a fair and consistent manner for the community and Council.

We are wanting to consult with the community on this draft policy, prior to adoption, to ensure the protocols and application process are well supported by the community. To have your say on this policy please fill out the Submission Form below in the Have Your Say section.
