As the construction of the new Hervey Bay Library & Administration Building (Including Disaster Resilience Centre) progresses, our main construction contractors Hansen Yuncken will have a very large crane on site to manoeuvre materials into place.
What's the name of our crane? It's... Hercules!
The crane is an important part of building our new Hervey Bay City Centre community hub and we invited our community to help us name it.
Children up to 12 years of age brought the crane to life by colouring a drawing of the crane and giving it a name, to be in the running for some great prizes, and the winning name will be displayed on the crane for everyone to admire.
The new name will adorn the crane for at least one year, while it is in place on the site, and the person who suggested it will receive a commemorative certificate for suggesting the name, and a photo shoot onsite with the construction management team. We also awardedprizes for the runner up and best coloured entries! The winners were annoiunced on Friday 20 September.
