Fraser Coast Beachfront Caravan Parks Redevelopment

Project Overview

Fraser Coast Regional Council owns four caravan parks along the beachfront in Hervey Bay.

These caravan parks have been in operation for many years. Facilities and infrastructure in the parks are all in need of refurbishment to meet current caravan park standards. In addition, van sites encroach onto the foreshore and no longer meet the demands of the market. The internal roadways are narrow, making it difficult to manoeuvre the average vehicles and caravans.

Council has embarked on a planned refurbishment program for Scarness and Burrum Heads, and has now completed the master planning process for Torquay and Pialba.

Have your Say - Burrum Heads Beachfront Tourist Park entry - Thank you for participating!

Council consulted with local residents, businesses, caravan park users and visitors, tourists and park management to create a master plan for the Burrum Heads beachfront tourist caravan park. We then asked for feedback on two further entry options for Council to consider in addition to the feedback received on the adopted Master Plan for the Burrum Heads Beachfront Tourist Park.

We are working to ensure our beachfront caravan parks can continue to provide thousands of tourists every year with a magical experience when they visit Hervey Bay.

This survey has now closed and, based on results from the survey, Council has resolved to locate the entrance to the Burrum Heads Caravan Park on Howard Street.

Further options are under consideration for the entry to the Fraser Coast Regional Council’s beachfront tourist park at Burrum Heads as part of the Master Planning process.
