Background and Context
The Planning Act 2016 requires the review of the Local Government Infrastructure Plans (LGIPs) every 5 years. Council has completed a review and amendment of the LGIP. The review included consultation with industry, internal and external stakeholders and community. The Queensland State Government has identified that the amendments constitute a new LGIP.
What is the LGIP?
The Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) is a critical planning document that helps guide the delivery of essential infrastructure such as roads, parks, water, and sewerage to support population growth and development in our community. The LGIP ensures that infrastructure is planned, funded, and delivered in a coordinated and sustainable way, aligning with our region’s future needs.
Why Are We Consulting?
Community feedback is essential to shaping a well-planned and sustainable future. This consultation provides an opportunity for residents, businesses, and stakeholders to review the draft LGIP and share their thoughts on how infrastructure planning aligns with community expectations and priorities.
How Can I Provide Feedback?
We invite you to review the draft LGIP inofrmation and documentation and provide your feedback. Your input will help ensure that our infrastructure planning reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.
